From Ordinary to Oh My!
I recently produced an event at the Four Seasons Hotel in Palo Alto, CA. After visiting a handful of other locations, we agreed that this hotel was the place and decided that we would transform the ballroom to suit our needs. The ballroom in its natural state is tasteful, contemporary in style and very clean, but it was a little boring and not exactly what the client had in mind for their event. When my client entered the ballroom moments before their event, the room went from fair to fantastic and the look on their face said it all…completely overwhelmed and couldn’t believe they were in the same wood paneled ballroom.
So, what did I do to exceed my clients expectations? I listened to what my client wanted and came up with a design concept. A little drapery here and there, a little bit of lighting, a few cool fabrics, some fun décor elements for good measure, unique thematic floral arrangements and bam!
Here are the before and after photos…

And the Color of the Year is…
According to Pantone, a leading color guide, the color of the year for 2011 is “Honeysuckle” . There, I said it…to be more specific for all you color palette aficionados, its #18-2120 Honeysuckle. Basically it’s a reddish pink, a color by nature that is uplifting, stimulating and fun.
The color translates very well in fashion, cosmetics and interiors. Not only is Honeysuckle the color of the year, but it will be a huge color influencer for spring.
So if you need a “pick me up” in your wardrobe or at your next event, go bright, fun and big with a little Honeysuckle.
Luxury Ice…it’s not just frozen water
Traditionally, ICE chills our favorite beverages, keeps food cold when its on a display and its even used as sculpture. Is ice is simply frozen water? Not anymore.
Névé Luxury Ice company is producing some of the coolest, most unique ice on the market. Consider Névé Ice to be gourmet frozen water. They use the purest water possible and freeze it with every attention to detail. Their ice even melts slower than regular ice.
Névé offers “cool” ice in different shapes, sizes, colors and even with filled with fruit, herbs or flowers.
Of course, this ice is more expensive than standard ice, but if your looking for something different and want to make your next soiree even cooler do it with some luxury ice.
